Duties Under the direction of the Sr.
Vice President and General Counsel, assists the
attorneys in the Wayne County Airport Authority’s
Legal Department. Position responsibilities
include all aspects of paralegal services
(litigation and transactional) and some general
office duties such as filing, copying, faxing,
screening mail, answering phones, etc.
Responsibilities Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
• Litigation related activities: Assists in the
preparation and filing of pleadings, briefs,
motions, subpoenas and other legal documents;
assists attorneys with discovery activities.
• Conducts legal research; reviews, compiles,
analyzes and reports on information received from
legal sources, including but not limited to, case
law, statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal
articles, treaties, constitutions and legal codes.
• Drafts simple, non-complex agreements.
• Reviews outside Legal Counsel invoicing to ensure
compliance with the Wayne County Airport
Authority’s Billing Guidelines.
• Processes required forms for the Legal
Department’s procurements; coordinates purchasing
process with the Authority’s Procurement Division
on behalf of Legal Department.
• Conducts on-line/electronic-based research using
applications such as Westlaw.
• Files legal and court documents
electronically/on-line as required, such as for
Federal Court matters.
• Performs other related services necessary to
support the activities of the Legal Department
